Narsee Monjee Aptitude Test
NMAT is the MBA entrance exam for admissions to Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mumbai. The NMAT is designed on a multiple-choice question format that includes Language Skills; Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning.
Candidates will get admission if they meet the required standards of a two-stage selection process. All eligible candidates are required to appear for the computer based NMAT to be conducted across the country. Short listed candidates will have to appear for group discussion and personal interview which will be held in Mumbai only.
The NMAT is valid for entry into the following programs:

2. MBA(Actuarial Science)
3. MBA(Banking Management)
4. MBA(Capital Markets)
5. MBA(Pharmaceutical Management)
2. EPGDM (15 Months)(Bangalore Campus)
3. PGDM (Bangalore Campus)
4. PGDM (Hyderabad Campus)
MBA Core :
Candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50 % aggregate marks from a recognized university. Those having work experience of 2 yrs. post qualification will be preferred.
MBA Actuarial Science :
Applicant should have either Bachelor's degree in Mathematics / computer science / statistics / engineering / allied science / economics OR Graduate or Post graduate degree in Mathematical subjects with at least 50% aggregate marks. OR, Graduate/ Post graduate degree with at least 85% in Mathematics / Statistics.
MBA Banking Management & MBA Capital Market :
Applicant should have Bachelor's degree in any discipline with not less than 50% aggregate marks.
MBA Pharmaceutical Management :
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) in Life Sciences/ Pharmacy, Microbiology and bio-tech, bio-chemistry from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.
Also Post Graduates in Sociology / psychology / Economics / Anthropology are eligible. Two years post qualification work experience will be preferred.
Part Time MBA :
Candidates withBachelor's Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU are eligible to apply. Three Years Post qualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre will be preferred.
Candidates appearing for NMAT 2011 online application has to be duly submitted & payment of registration charges needs to be made in any of the prescribed mode within stipulated time.
Candidates can apply for more than one Programme as per his /her eligibility by giving preferences. The selection of candidate to any Programme applied will be as per merit & as per preferences only. The preferences once given cannot be changed later on.
The registration charges for NMAT 2011 will be Rs.1800/- and the mode of payment will be as under :
- Debit or credit card or
- Cash at bank or
- Demand Draft
All those who registered successfully will be called for the NMAT 2011 test, provided they satisfy condition of eligibility. The candidates should check that he/she is eligible as per the conditions regarding qualification stated above.
Duration of the test is of 120 minutes (2 hours) and it will consist of objective type questions with multiple answers.

Selection of candidates is based on NMAT score. Shortlisted candidates will be called for second round.It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure whether he/she is eligible as per the eligibility criteria. Written Test marks (as applicable), Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Presentation (as applicable), Academics and work experience. Decisions regarding the cut-off point for merit shall be at the sole discretion of the NMIMS. Such decisions will be final, indisputable and binding on all concerned.
Note : Group Discussion & Personal Interview will conducted only in Mumbai

Reasoning: Questions based on strong and weak arguments, Probably true/ definitely true, conclusion / inference based on passage, Input / Output , reasoning questions based on graphs, coding –decoding , series, family tree, multi dimensional arrangements, puzzles etc.
Quantitative : Number system, percentages, ratio, profit and loss, simple interest / compound interest, Mixtures, averages, 2D and 3 D geometry , time and work etc. There might be questions on permutation and combination, sets, log, and physics based question.
DI and DS : Questions on Line graph, bar graph, tables and Pie chart. There might be questions related to Data redundancy.
General Awareness: Questions can be based on advertisements, International organizations, sports, awards, books and author, Budget and finance policy, constitution, financial institutions, etc No separate preparation required to attempt this section.
