Kerala Engineering, Agricultural and medical Entrance Examination :
Kerala Engineering Agricultural and medical Entrance Examination is conducted by the Government of Kerala. Students who are seeking admission in to degree in engineering / agriculture / medical / architecture have to appear for this entrance examination.
Courses offered :
(i) BSc. Hons. (Agriculture)
(ii) BFSc. (Fisheries)
(iii) BSc. Hons. (Forestry)
Veterinary BVSc. & AH
B.Tech [including B.Tech (Agricultural Engg.) / B.Tech (Dairy Sc. & Tech.) Courses under the Kerala Agricultural University
(i) Applicant should be an Indian citizen.
(ii) The candidate should complete 17 years of age as on 31 st December, 2010.
(iii) Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as ‘Keralites'. Others will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralites
Medical / Agriculture / Veterinary Courses :
Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.
Candidates who wish to take admission to MBBS/BDS courses should acquire 50% marks in the Medical Entrance Examination (As per the guidelines issued by Medical Council of India).
Candidates seeking admission to BVSc. & AH course under the Kerala Agricultural University, in addition to the qualification prescribed above, should have passed the qualifying examination with minimum 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English put together (as per the regulation of Veterinary Council of India).
Eligibility of BSc. Degree holders :
Candidates who apply based on their BSc. Degree, for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS Courses, should have obtained their BSc. Degree with one of the subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Bio-Chemistry as major subjects, and any one or two of these subjects as subsidiaries, with not less than 50% marks for Main and Subsidiaries taken together, provided they have passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
Engineering Courses :
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry / Bio-technology / Computer Science/Biology put together are eligible for admission.
Candidates having Three year Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, Kerala or equivalent, having 50% marks in the final Diploma examination, are also eligible for admission. However, these Diploma holders are not eligible for admission to the Engineering courses offered by Kerala Agricultural University.
Architecture Course :
Candidates who have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Mathematics as a subject of examination, with 50% marks in aggregate
Candidates who have passed 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central / State Governments with 50% aggregate marks
Candidates with International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination are eligible to apply.
In addition, candidates will have to score 40% marks (80 marks out of 200) in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture). Reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC) candidates should also have obtained 40% marks in NATA, as per guidelines of Council of Architecture. (For details, visit www.nata.in).
Relaxation in marks in the Qualifying Examination
For all courses, a relaxation of marks will be 5% in the qualifying examination will be allowed to those candidates who belong to the communities listed under the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and whose annual family income is up to Rs. 4.5 lakhs (Rupees Four Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only).
SC/ST candidates required only a pass in the qualifying examination. But candidates belonging to SEBC categories, seeking admission to MBBS/BDS courses, need 45% marks in Biology and 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in Medical Entrance Examination.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories required 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in the Entrance Examination for seeking admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.
Candidates with Locomotory Disability between 40% and 70% required only 45% of marks for Biology and 45% marks for Biology, Physics and Chemistry taken together as academic eligibility for MBBS course. They need only 45% marks in the Entrance Examination to qualify for MBBS course.
Candidates who have not passed the qualifying examination but have appeared/are appearing for the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination or the three-year Engineering Diploma Examination of this academic year, will also be permitted to take the Entrance Examination(s) provisionally.
But, such candidates should prove their academic eligibility on the date of admission. Candidates applying for Medical courses based on BSc. Degree, should have passed the Degree Examination at the time of submission of application.
The KEAM Application form and Prospectus will be available from 19.01.2011 to 14.02.2011 through selected branches of Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State. The amount towards the fee of application is to be remitted in cash at the Post Offices.
(a) Only one application need be submitted for the Entrance Examinations for admission to one or more of Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, Engineering and Architecture courses.
(b) SC / ST candidates should apply in Pink colored application forms and all other candidates should apply in the General application form (Light Green). Candidates under ‘Other Eligible Communities' (OEC) should apply in the General application form. Candidates who are children of Inter-Caste Married Couple, of which one is SC / ST, should apply in the form meant for SC / ST.
(c) KEAM 2011 Application Fee :
For General Category Candidates: Rs. 700/-
For SC/ST candidates : Rs. 350/-
(I)Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates whose annual family income is below 40,000/- can have Application Form free of cost from the District Offices of the Scheduled Tribes Development Department on production of Community Certificate and Income Certificate.
(II)Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Exam Application Forms will not be available by post or sold from the office of the Commissioner for KEAM Entrance Examinations.
(e) Application Form for KEAM 2011 Entrance Exams : The KEAM 2011 Prospectus, an OMR Data sheet and an envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will be supplied along with the KEAM application form. Candidates should ensure that the Application number printed in the Application Form, OMR Data Sheet and on the cover are the same.
(f) Candidates who do not claim any reservation benefit and those belonging to Non-Keralite category can apply ‘Online' through the website www.cee-kerala.org
On successful submission of the data online, an application number will be generated. The candidates should take a printout of this application. The KEAM application fee 700/- can be remitted in any branch of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) using the challan contained in the printout of the application.
The Printout of the KEAM application complete along with original challan certified by the Bank authorities and other requisite certificates should be sent to the Office of the CEE before the last date specified for submission of KEAM application forms.
Candidates who do not have access to State Bank of Travancore (SBT) can attach a Demand Draft for 700/- drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations payable at Thiruvananthapuram, as application fee along with the application form (Application Number and Name of applicant should be written on the back of the Demand Draft).
KEAM 2011 Online application process will be completed only on receipt of the printout of the application along with all requisite certificates, in the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
(g) Candidates, who choose ‘Dubai' as their Entrance Examinations centre, should submit along with their filled in KEAM application form, a Demand Draft for 8,500/- (Rupees Eight Thousand Five Hundred only), drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the ‘ Commissioner for Entrance Examinations' payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
Those applying online should enclose Demand Drafts for 700 /- as KEAM Application fee and 8,500/- as centre fee.
The candidates opting Dubai centre should note that the examinations are conducted as per Indian Standard Time (IST).
(h) The dully filled KEAM 2011 Application Form along with the OMR Data Sheet and other relevant documents, to be submitted with the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Exam Application Form, are must be sent in the printed envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Examinations supplied along with the application form, so as to reach before 5 p.m. on 14.02.2011 (Monday), by Hand Delivery / Registered Post / Speed Post.
Completed KEAM Applications will be received in the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations on holidays also.
(i) Belated applications will be rejected. Candidates are therefore advised to apply well in advance. The Commissioner for Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.
Prospectus and application forms for the KEAM Entrance Examinations 2011 is available on the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, ‘www.cee-kerala.org‘. Candidates are requested to go through the various provisions in the Prospectus before submitting their applications.

Note: Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should also submit the Application form to the CEE. There is no State level Entrance Examination for this purpose. However such candidates should write the National Aptitude Test for Architecture and should forward the NATA score and mark list of the qualifying examination to the CEE on or before 05.06.2011
