ICAR entrance exam is conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)- New Delhi, formerly known as Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, is an autonomous organization under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
The Council is the peak body for coordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including fisheries, horticulture, and animal sciences in the entire country.
ICAR conducts an All India Entrance Examination for admission to Bachelors Degree Programmes (AIEEA-UG) and Masters Degree Programmes (AIEEA-PG) in agriculture and allied sciences for Indian nationals.
To apply for ICAR AIEEA-UG-2011
The applicant's age must be between 17 and 23 years as on 31st August 2011(must have been born between 01.09.1988 to 01.09.1994).
Applicant must have passed and obtained minimum 50% marks in aggregate for admission under General, UPS and OBC categories or 40% marks in aggregate for admission under SC, ST and PH categories in 10+2 exam or equivalent/Inter (Agriculture) with PCM/ PCB/ PCMB/ PCA/ PCH subject combinations.
To apply for ICAR AIEEA-PG-2011
The minimum age limit of candidate shall be 19 years. No relaxation is acceptable regarding the minimum age limit.
Indian nationals who have passed their Bachelor degree in the field of Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Process & Food Engineering, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Basic and allied sciences under 10+2+5, 10+2+4 Years degree programs are eligible to apply.
The applicants must have secured Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.60/10.00 in ten-point scale, 3.25/5.00 in five-point scale, 2.60/4.00 in four-point scale for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates they said requirement is an OGPA of at least 5.60/10.00, 2.75/5.00, 2.20/4.00 respectively.
In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured minimum 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/PH the requirement is 50% marks.
For admission in the subject of Veterinary Sciences (M.V.Sc.) programmes, the candidate must have passed B.V.Sc. & A.H. with Internship before the date of registration in the Universities.
Application form for ICAR AIEEA-UG-2011 programme can be obtained by cash payment from Registrars of Agricultural Universities or from the specified branches of Syndicate Bank and also from five ICAR Institutions by payment through Bank Draft from 27 December 2010 to 15 February 2011
Application Fee is Rs. 400/- for General, OBC and UPS categories and Rs. 200/- for S.C., S.T. and P.H. categories.
Rs. 25/- per Bulletin would be charged as handling charges plus service tax as applicable, in case of purchase against cash, whereas Rs.50/- per Bulletin should be added in the Bank Draft amount towards postal expenses, if requested to be sent by post.
Application form can also be downloaded during 27.12.2010 to 15.02.2011 from ICAR website please submit the duly filled forms through post or in person along with Bank Draft of amount as specified above, to the office of Controller of Examination, Education Division, Room No. 216, ICAR, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi-110012.

Test Paper Pattern:
There will be only one question paper consisting of 180 objective type questions, in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Agriculture) for “STREAM–A” and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for “STREAM–B”. The question paper will be in both ENGLISH and HINDI.
