Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is an entrance test. GMAT is administered by Graduate Management Admission Council . The GMAT is mainly designed for the foreign based Universities as well as other national based Universities. This entrance exam measures the verbal skills, analytical skills, writing skills and mathematical skills of an individual.

The GMAT score is valid for 5 years. GMAT score is valid in over 1900 institutes across the world.

Eligibility:

Applicant should hold a Bachelor's Degree, with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates appearing in their final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.

Test Pattern:

The duration of the test is for three and a half hours. All questions are of Multiple-choice are delivered in a computer-adaptive format.

Questions in these sections are dynamically selected as candidate takes the test. The multiple-choice questions adjust according to candidate's ability level.

In a computer-adaptive test, only one question at a time is presented. Because the computer scores each question before selecting the next one, you may not skip, return to, or change your responses to previous questions.

The questions in an adaptive test are weighted according to their difficulty and other statistical properties, not according to their position in the test.

At the test venue, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations.

The GMAT test paper is divided in to three main parts:

Analytical Writing Assessment:

The Analytical Writing Assessment consists of two separate writing tasksóAnalysis of an Issue and Analysis of an Argument. You are allowed 30 minutes to complete each one.

Quantitative section:

Quantitative section contains 37 multiple-choice questions of two question typesóData Sufficiency and Problem Solving. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 minutes to complete the entire section.

Verbal section:

Verbal section contains 41 multiple choice questions of three question typesóReading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, and Sentence Correction. You are allowed a maximum of 75 minutes to complete the entire section.

Important Dates:

There is no any fixed date for GMAT exam. It can be taken any time of the year with the prior appointment.
